How can I find the treatment technologies for a particular contaminant?
Technologies for cleaning up a particular contaminant at a site can be found in the Record of Decision (ROD), which provides the justification for the remedial action chosen under the Superfund program and stores information on the technologies being used to clean up sites. A copy of the ROD can be obtained by contacting the Regional Community Involvement Coordinator (CIC) for the site, or by visiting the site information repository. The Regional CIC can tell you where the information repositories are located. The EPA provides online access to ROD data through the Records of Decision System (RODS). RODS data also can be found on CD-ROM, which is available by calling the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) at 1-800-553-6847 or 703-487-4650 and by ordering product number PB95-593551. The Superfund Public Information System (SPIS), available on CD ROM, contains ROD documents and abstracts as well as CERCLIS and Archive data. It is available by calling the Government Printing Office at (202) 512-1800, and asking for stock number 055-000-00594-9.
